This one is really quick and easy, and works on so many fall favorites: sweet breads like banana or zucchini, pies, cakes, donuts. Pretty much anything that you would normally put a frosting or glaze on.
Ingredients
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (see note below)
1 tablespoon milk
Directions
Combine all the ingredients over low heat.
Stir until smooth. If it’s too thick, add a little more milk. Check the taste and adjust as needed. We added more syrup.
NOTE: Don’t do this with “maple flavored” syrup. If you’re going to use something that’s mostly corn syrup anyway, just buy a can of pre-made frosting.
You’ll have to pour it over whatever you’re frosting pretty quickly. It starts to solidify almost immediately.
Tomorrow I’ll be back with the recipe for that apple cake we’re frosting.
