But the intensely low-tech, almost-free pallet composter looks like a keeper.

We’ve already landscaped the backyard, and there’s a tree right in the only spot that would have made sense for us to do this. Unless … hmm, maybe there’s enough room between the tree and the back fence. Now where did I put that measuring tape?
