Bacon … bacon bacon! BACON!

13 Things Made Of Bacon That Shouldn’t Be

They’ve got the bacon bra, and the bacon dress looks just like the bacon tux, both of which I’ve already shown. I’m a huge fan of the bacon world, in the photo up top.

No, no point to this post. Just wanted to share the bacon.

I want to live in that world. Although I'd probably have a heart attack in a week. But what a way to go!

Maybe in the fall. I'll bet in August it would be nearly impossible to walk uphill.

wow, I've heard of bacon flavored lipgloss, and there is a bacon alarm clock that activates and cooks a piece of bacon you put in the night before so you get the fresh bacon smell to wake you up.

Drew….did you see the news spot on the bacon explosion? I saw it and emailed it to my husband who believes that bacon should be its' own food group. Anyway, just type in your search engine Bacon Explosion. You should make one. With the leftovers we sliced it and put in biscuits.

PS… Did you go on vacation? You hadn't posted anything for like a week.

Cerise, yes I saw the bacon explosion. And I'd love to see someone make one … on their grill. (I saw a video of someone's grill engulfed in flame when the grease started dripping.)

And yes, I was on vacation. Thanks for noticing.

We actually made two of them. And NO it did not flame up on the grill at all. But, I don't remember that the temp was really high or anything like that. It was easy to make. It was really good and I dislike BBQ sauce – big time! We made other things that day but I don't remember..there were alot of people here that day. It was Superbowl.

Where did you go on vacation? We leave in the morning for a long weekend in San Antonio with the kids.

I found the video of the bacon explosion … uhh, exploding.

We went to Kelley's Island, a couple miles off Sandusky in Lake Erie. Had a great time.

Have you ever made buckboard bacon? So easy and better than any store bought bacon. Much cheaper too, if you get your pork butts on sale. I use a ready-to-use cure sold by Hi Mountain Seasonings so it's pretty fool proof. And if you knew me, you'd understand why that's important.

No, I've never done my own bacon. I'll talk to my butcher, see what he has to say about it.

Drew, if you ever try it, you'll never want to eat commercially produced bacon again. OK, maybe 'never' is just crazy talk when it comes to bacon. The home cured is so much better, it's like improving on the Mona Lisa. If she were made of bacon.

When you talk to your butcher, ask about pork belly to use instead of shoulder – it's a faster process, but it is fattier too. Not that bacon fat is a bad thing.

Wish I had a butcher around here.
