I didn't know McCutcheon's was in Frederick, MD... I have family there, too--well, I have family practically everywhere!
Anyway, check out their website and history:
http://www.mccutcheons.com/mcchist.php
Next weekend (Halloween) my family is going to be canning MORE applesauce. I'll send pictures, Drew. (Just for my household, I ordered 10 cases [of 12 jars each] of pints!)

Ali, I know that I can only dream. When I pointed it out to my wife, before I even had a chance to say anything, she told me, "No, you can not have one."

Kristin, did you ever hear the one about which way the knife is facing? There's supposedly some old thing about it being a threat if the edge is facing the plate.

Your girls' table settings reminded me that until I was about 21 years old,I could never remember which side of the plate the napkin was supposed to be on. I guess my mother went by the theory that as long as we were setting the table, she wasn't going to nag too much about the correctness of the setting. A., on the other hand, had no such reservations, and now I know.

The surprising benefits of marriage.

I actually know some people in that area. Haven't been down to see them in a while. I'll try to remember to look for that when we visit. Thanks for the tip.

Drew, If you're ever near Frederick, MD you should check out McCutcheons. It's a small family owned factory and what they offer at their store is hands and fists beyond anything I've seen in the many orchard stores they supply.

Hope you're weekend is sunnier tomorrow!

Sunni
