Raising Kids Right

When I posted the beef stroganoff recipe a couple of days ago, I forgot to share this great story.

I mentioned last year that I’ve ruined my kids for canned soup. The 8-year-old just confirmed that I’m still doing a good job.

When we were at the grocery store, I asked her what she’d like to have to go along with the stroganoff. She asked what it was, and I told her it was beef with gravy over noodles. So what sounds good to go with that?

“More gravy.”

[Snif] I’m so proud.

    funny

While it’s good that you and I have ruined our children for prepackaged and restaraunt foods, sometimes I would just like to break open some Campbells or Kraft for a little break. But what the heck. They are much healthier for it. My kids will try anything…anything!

Like Erma Bombeck! She always said she grew up in a house where gravy was a beverage.

Well, this is a kid who likes her steak with a side of steak. When we’re driving past a farm and she sees cows, she and her sister both say, “They look deliiiiiicious!.”

I feel sorry for the boys who will someday try to take them to dinner on a McDonald’s paycheck.
