Jason, I've got to try reduced balsamic some time. Though I'll have to remember not to get too close while it's cooking, because I've gotten hot vinegar fumes up the sinuses before. Hoo-boy.

I have a secret for making bruschetta awesome! I go buy a bottle of balsamic vinegar and reduce the heck out of it until its a thick syrup and drizzle it on top. It burns my nose its so strong but oh man is it great. I can't wait to try it out on your recipe.

I've always made my Bruschetta with Boursin and black olives as well. I think if you were to put the Boursin on the bottom, dice the black olives and mix them with the tomato and pesto then cover with some shredded cheese and herbs de provence it would be even better.

I made this for dinner, when I guy I liked was coming over, with homemade pesto. Between him, the three other people in my family, and I, we nommed it all. It was really good. For dessert, I made the fried apple things you posted, with homemade whipped cream. Thanks for the recipes, even though he didn't stick around.

Most herb blends I've checked are pretty high in salt and sometimes MSG. I'm not afraid of salt, but I like to add it myself. I've had some blends that were more salt than herbs, which makes it really hard to add more of the herb flavor without overdoing the salt.

I do not like bottled pesto. I found a substitute online at Juliet Mae Spices. They have an Italian Herb blend that really works. I use it to make spaghetti sauce and put it on pizza.

I love you where have you been all my life!!! LOL Seriously, wonderful blog. I just got done baking up a loaf of my wild sourdough bread, hehe, and thought I would do a bit of geek research on the net. I found your site, and the rest was history. THANK YOU! Ten minutes well spent, now back to the oven. Want some? =) ~Jessie

Ooh, capers. Now that does sound interesting. Though I think I'll have to only put them on half, in case the girls don't like them.
